Just because they've always told you that hard work will get you your heart's desires doesn't mean it's true. There's a lot of luck involved in life and I'm kind of tapped out right now. I can't tell you to avoid applying to medical school. I will tell you that it, in part, had left me without a job, bitter, and without much confidence. Maybe when you're approaching 40, you won't be living with your parents or applying for jobs tutoring beginning computer students with a degree from MIT.
